Little Bits

One bug coming right up: Mom delivers lunch through the fly-by window of a hoopoe nest in Israel. The hoopoe was chosen Thursday as Israel's national bird in conjunction with the country's 60th anniversary.


Kirk's weekly gift: Kirk Douglas tries out a slide at the Lillian Elementary School playground, the 400th school playground he has renovated in Los Angeles. The 91-year-old actor and his wife, Anne, have donated a $25,000 renovation each week for 11 years.
Terney the tiger tries to figure out what's in the birthday present at the Philadelphia Zoo.
