A Can From China....

E-mail I Received
.
I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET.
ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA'.
FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA'.
I WAS SHOCKED!! SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF.
TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING ! !
Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods, and pet food, to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Administration for perceived errors.
Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.
Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?
SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.
Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.
THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!
The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!
The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.
Remember, June 4 to July 4.
EVEN BETTER. . . START NOW.
Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.
If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET! Pass it on, America !

Leopard Moth

The Giant Leopard Moth is a moth of the family Arctiidae. It is distributed throughout the Southern and Eastern United States from New England to Mexico… This species has a wingspan of 3 inches. The wings of this moth are bright white with a pattern of neat black blotches, some solid and some hollow. The abdomen is dark blue with orange markings, the male has a narrow yellow line on the sides. Its legs have black and white bands. Adult moths are rather strictly nocturnal and do not generally fly before nightfall.

Metal Detecting Sandals

These are the sandals that can detect metal while you walk, allowing you to find buried artifacts while strolling the beach. A copper coil built into the right sandal is powered via a battery pack that straps to your calf. Using beat frequency oscillation technology, the ring creates a magnetic field; when a metal object is underfoot–up to 2'–it distorts the field and the battery pack alerts you to the presence of metal using a flashing red light and either a gentle vibration or a clearly audible buzz.

Bear cub spotted with head stuck in feeder

It was no honey pot like in "Winnie the Pooh" but a bear cub in Wisconsin was spotted with a bird feeder stuck on its head.
A landowner in the northwestern part of the state told the state Department of Natural Resources about the cub over Memorial Day weekend. But the mother was so protective that DNR officers couldn't get near the cub, who was still able to climb a tree.
When the DNR set out a live trap this week, it caught both the cub and the mom. The feeder was found in pieces next to them, possibly chewed apart by the mom.
Both bears were released into the woods.

The Great Escape Kitty

Abby was once an outside cat who was really having a hard time learning to use a litter box. I decided to put her in a large dog crate with a litter box and some food/water and blankets to see if she could get used to using it. After about 10 minutes in the crate she appeared back in the living room. The crate was still closed and intact. I put her back in the crate and in another 10 minutes she was out again! The crate was still closed and I had no idea how she was getting out so I put my camera down there to see exactly how she did it. I was amazed to find that she was squeezing through a 2x5 inch hole! Thanks to her escape tactics she is still roaming the house and the litter training battle continues!
