Platypus proves even odder than scientists thought

A DNA study found the creatures to be a mix of mammal, bird and reptile with, even more strangely, 10 sex chromosomes.

The platypus has 10, five X and five Y.

Chicken has laid an egg measuring just an inch (2.5cm) across.
Thing One, a bantam, produced the tiny egg instead of her daily normal-sized variety.
Owner Claire Johnsen, from Suffolk, thinks it may be the smallest ever laid.
She said: 'It doesn't look real at all.'
