Trouble in the golf world but isn't about Tiger Woods.

It's about William and Dorothy Abbott who built a home in North Naples in the mid '80s. It was nothing but “scraggly farm land” at the time. Then in 1993 developers built the Stonebridge golf course next to their home.
Now golf balls rain down on their home every day.
Most land with a soft thud in the well-kept lawn. But some crash through their living room windows, smash garden ornaments crack the concrete roof tiles and rip holes through their lanai screens, reports the Naples Daily News.
Their home and yard get pelted with up to 200 golf balls a month. In letters dating to 1995, the golf course has repeatedly claimed no responsibility for errant shots by its golfers. Stonebridge plans to redesign its course, which may help the matter.
After 15 years, the Abbotts said they’re looking for peace and quiet, and an end to it all.

Giant golf course to open in Australian outback

Covering roughly the same distance as Land's End to John O'Groats, it is a golf course that requires a driver at every single hole.
Australia's Nullarbor Links is the largest course in the world, crossing two time zones and encompassing some of the flattest, driest terrain on the planet.
It spans two states, stretching 848 miles from Ceduna in the south to the old gold mining town of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
The holes are so far apart that players will have to be bused from one to the next and are likely to encounters some native Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, bush turkeys, emus, snakes and, of course, flies, on their way.

Okay, ready for your you-gotta-be-kidding-me story of the week, if not the year?
Your setting: lovely St. Petersburg, Florida. Your heroine: 62-year-old Norweigan native Unni Haskell, who, after two months' worth of golf lessons, teed up her first-ever shot on a real live golf course.
On the first tee of the nine-hole par-3 Cypress Links in St. Pete, Ms. Haskell pulled out a driver -- this is a hundred-yard hole, but remember, Ms. Haskell had never played before -- and drilled a 75-yard corker that bumped, ran and ended up right in the hole.
That's right ... on the first swing of the first hole of the first course she ever played, Unni Haskell hit a hole-in-one.
"I didn't know it was that big of a deal, I thought all golfers do this.''

Girl 'not pretty enough' for Opening Ceremony

It has been claimed that the little girl who starred at the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony was miming and was only put on stage because the real singer wasn't considered attractive enough. Ceremony musical director Chen Qigang says pigtailed Lin Miaoke was selected to appear because of her cute appearance and hadn't sung a note of the emotional song Ode to the Motherland. Photographs of Lin in a bright red party dress were published in newspapers and websites all over the world and the official China Daily hailed her as a rising star on Tuesday. But Chen says the girl whose voice was actually heard by the 91,000 capacity crowd at the main Olympic stadium was in fact seven-year-old Yang Peiyi, who has a chubby face and uneven teeth.
