Pizza employees was told to work in the cold

Employees of a pizza delivery shop say the owners have cut off the heat in the store. And they say if the workers don’t like it, they can leave.
Dan Baxter, who works at the Pizza Time in Lacey, says he was suspended for two weeks after talking to KING 5 about this. He expects to be fired and is looking for other employment.
"When it’s really, really cold, like when it’s 19 (degrees) outside, it will be 25 in the store," said Baxter.
So what about using the ovens to heat the place?
"The ovens create a little bit of heat, but the exhaust fans pull it all out," said Baxter.
Baxter says the employees were once allowed to keep the heat around 55 degrees, but one night, they forgot to shut the furnace off after work.
That was the end of the heat at the store.

The Aquarium Phone Booth

This is very cool. An ordinary phone booth was transformed into an aquarium by artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino as part of the Lyon Light Festival in France.
As the designers stated:
"With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically colored fish; an invitation to escape and travel."

K-9 detective finds missing Fort Worth police canine

Fort Worth police officers lost one of their own on New Years Day when Loki, a search and rescue canine, chewed through the fence of his handler’s backyard and escaped into the streets of Fort Worth.
After searching for hours with a helicopter and police cruisers, Fort Worth police called in Godiva, a chocolate Labrador, from Dog Gone Detectives — a firm that specializes in finding lost pets.
Within 15 minutes, Godiva had hunted down Loki about a half mile away from the backyard where he escaped.
"Usually, it isn’t that easy," said Kat Manning, the co-owner of Dog Gone Detectives. "We got on the trail. Then all of the sudden, I looked up and there he was. He was just hanging out."
Godiva, who is used only to locate pets, has an 85 percent success rate, but it usually takes several hours or even days to find missing pets, Manning said. Searches cost $300 to start and another $500 if the pet is found.
Manning donated Godiva’s expertise to the Fort Worth Police Department. Media reports about the search have already helped boost business.
"We’re getting pretty busy now," she said.

If You Can

If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can get going without pep pills,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, no fault of yours, things go wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can ignore a friend’s limited education and never correct him,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion, or politics,
Then you are as good as your dog.
